 “Più scura è la notte, più AUDACE è il leone…”
...citiamo una frase storica detta più volte in momenti apparentemente poco favorevoli niente di meno che da Franklin Delano Roosevelt ( 32° Presidente degli USA – uno dei più grandi Presidenti di sempre, figura centrale del secolo scorso…) per aprire questo nostro “punto nave palistico-fortezzaiolo del 2010”.
Apriamo così questo nostro editoriale, perché almeno per quello che si e sentito dire in questi primi mesi dell’anno, la Fortezza ( da molti esperti…o presunti tali…del Palio…), come equipaggio è dato utlimo o quasi al prossimo Palio marinaro del’Argentario.
Beh che dire, che semplicemente non siamo minimamente d’accordo con quanto asserito da qualcuno, e questo non essere d’accordo come sempre lo motiviamo, per ora, a parole.
La Dirigenza Fortezzaiola, ha deciso che dopo la buona prestazione dell’Equipaggio al Palio dello scorso anno, èra il caso di ripartire da una base solida e concreta che avesse come asse portante gran parte dell’Equipaggio 2009, confermandone alla fin fine i 4/5 dello stesso sostituendo solamente il 3 reme che ha visto protagonista nella precedente gara di mezzagosto Paolo Giovani , sbarcato, per far posto al nuovo arrivato Mirko Cimini.
Certo vorremmo precisare che oltre che i nostri ringraziamenti per Paolo, non è certo l’unico “colpevole” di oltre 30 secondi di distacco presi dai vincitori , ma dovendo cambiare qualcosa in ottica di rinforzare l’equipaggio, siamo giunti alla conclusione che era il “centro barca” che aveva bisogno di un pò di ossigeno e quindi ecco il motivo della sostituzione con Mirko, che fisicamente e strutturalmente ci sembra ( a nostro “inesperto” giudizio…) più atto allo sforzo di Paolo, che per carità a bordo al “guzzo” ha dato corpo e anima, senza risparmiarsi neanche un secondo durante tutti i mesi di preparazione ivi compreso naturalmente il 15 di Agosto.
Mirko Cimini, classe 1984, alto 1,87, diversi palietti disputati ( uno vinto con la Fortezza nel 2003) e un Palio disputato con Il Valle ( 2006) con un degno secondo posto ,( dietro una inarrivabile Fortezza - 24.32 – 4° Gavitello- che vedeva quell’anno l’utlimo Palio da vogatore di Alessio il Mommo e l’arrivo di Mario Basler) frutto e risultato di una dedizione serietà impegno e prestanza fisica profusa durante tutto l’anno palistico, caratteristiche quest’ultime, che certo non guastano ad un paliante specie…nel palio moderno.
Completato l’Equipaggio ( con largo anticipo rispetto all’anno scorso), i ragazzi già dal nuovo anno hanno iniziato ad allenarsi , con una preparazione che sarà in crescendo, mista a palestra remoergometro e Guzzo ( prima Pompeo...che verrà varato i primi di Marzo…poi quello ufficiale) la quale ci porterà al meglio delle nostre possibilità al gavitello del prossimo 15 di Agosto.
Certo il lavoro da fare è tanto , i sacrifici anche, e gli avversari ( di cui parleremo in seguito in un prossimo editoriale…) sono forti e preparati, ma sono proprio questi gli elementi che vedono e coinvolgono di più nella sfida i nostri ragazzi, con un Francesco Landini sempre più capovoga e leader del gruppo, con un Riccardo Picchianti sempre più attivo e pronto al lavoro duro e faticoso del secondo reme e con Alessandro Landini sempre più dentro la parte importante e fondamentale del 4° reme - ossia del reme che “gira il guzzo” - che tanto per dire negli utlimi anni è stato alla Fortezza fra gli altri della Ronca e del Cucchione….il tutto naturalmente condito e guidato dall’esperienza palistica oramai ventennale di Fiorenzo Visconti VERA E UNICA bandiera NATA e che VIVE all’ombra del Castello, di cui ne portiamo vanto e orgoglio!
Non ci dimentichiamo certo di Roberto Palombo ( Piovino) che quest’anno dopo tanti anni e tornato nel “giro” fortezzaiolo facendo da “sparring partner” a Fiorenzo che come si sa in certi periodi dell’anno è molto impegnato...( il lavoro è il lavoro…ci mancherebbe!!!).
Quindi , in cuor nostro pensiamo vivamente di avere le carte in regola per andare a fare la nostra bella gara, che certo quest’anno non può essere di buon piazzamento o di bella figura, dobbiamo andar li e batterci con tutte le nostre forze per essere competitivi e cercare di avvicinarci notevolmente e il più possibile ai campioni in carica durante le prove di allenamento , creando progressivamente quell’entusiasmo e quella voglia di vincere che delle volte il 15 di Agosto ti porta a risultati insperati alla vigilia ma soprattutto ti porta a batterti come un LEONE nell’arena per la vittoria finale…(staremo a vedere)!!
Le motivazioni sono tante , anche la voglia di far bene cè e piano piano ( con allenamento giornaliero) stiamo acquisendo anche consapevolezza dei nostri mezzi….e delle nostre possibilità…ci danno per ultimi o quasi ( ulteriore stimolo a far meglio…)…ci dicono che siamo a notte fonda e buia….come già detto non solo NON siamo d’accordo, ma contiamo sul fatto che oltre ad essere l’anno del Leone ( anno cinese..) pensiamo e siamo convinti sempre di più che come diceva Theodore Roosevelt….più buia è la notte….più il leone (affamato in questo caso di successo…) è audace…..molto audace …e non ha certo paura di mettersi in gioco contro i campioni in carica….
